Andean Wedding full day

We will pick you up from your hotel around 8:30 am and travel by private transport to the breathtaking viewpoint of Ocutuan de Pongobamba in Chinchero (approx. 1h 40m). Upon arriving at the starting point, we will take a gentle 20-minute hike along scenic trails, discovering traditional local medicinal herbs along the way. Before reaching the wedding sites, you will enjoy stunning panoramic views of Lake Piuray framing the sacred snow-capped apu.

We then head to the Pongobamba-Chinchero community to visit the Huaynas de Pumapata association for an introduction to the wedding themes and cultural significance behind the ancient Andean Marriage—Sawachikuy.

Next, we begin the nuptial walk toward one of the region's most sacred outdoor wedding venues: a traditional Andean altar set directly on the shores of Lake Piuray. Among all possible wedding venues, few match the spiritual depth of this setting, where an Andean priest conducts the traditional ceremony, giving thanks to the earth (Pachamama) as you exchange vows. Following the ceremony, celebrate your wedding day with a traditional toast alongside the newlyweds and godparents, accompanied by joy, dancing, and heartfelt congratulations from all guests.

Afterward, enjoy a celebratory nuptial stroll back with the group. Traditional wedding bands and local music set the mood for vibrant dancing with godparents, sponsors, and guests. Instead of standard banquet halls, your reception feast features an authentic Pachamanca cooked directly in the earth ("Pacha" meaning earth/soil, and "manca" meaning pot). Once cooked to perfection, this traditional meal is served for everyone to enjoy.
