Day 1: Airport – Puerto Maldonado - Caiman Cocha tour

Welcome to Puerto Maldonado, the capital of biodiversity in Peru and the gateway to the Amazon jungle tour of a lifetime. Upon your arrival, our team will greet you at the airport and begin your Peruvian Amazon Rainforest Adventure with a bus tour of the city. We will then head to Puerto Capitanía, where we will board a motorized riverboat to navigate the Madre de Dios River—a thrilling introduction to the Amazon forest trip that awaits you.

As we cruise through the waters of the Amazon, keep your eyes open for Ronsocos, Caimans, Turtles, Herons, Cormorants, and other wildlife that call the Peruvian Amazon jungle home. Upon arrival at the Lodge, you will be welcomed with a refreshing drink before settling into your cozy bungalow and enjoying a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, our expert guide will lead you along a marked trail to Caimán Cocha, a small lake teeming with Black Caiman and Caiman—a highlight of any Amazon rainforest excursions in the Tambopata National Reserve.

As the day draws to a close, witness the breathtaking sunset over the Peru rainforest, a truly sensory experience bursting with vivid colors.

Day 2: Lake Apu Victor and Isla de los Monos Tour

Today, your amazon jungle tour continues with a visit to the magnificent Lake Apu Victor, surrounded by marshes and towering trees with crystal-clear waters—a must-see for any Peru jungle itinerary.

Ascend to the Observation Deck for panoramic views of the lake and spot parrots, macaws, toucans, camungos, shanshos, herons, caimans, and turtles. With a stroke of luck, you may even catch a glimpse of the Giant Otter, one of the most elusive animals of the Amazon forest in Peru.

After exploring the lake, return to the Lodge for lunch before heading to Isla de los Monos or Monkey Island—a unique island destination in the heart of the Madre de Dios River, just five minutes by boat from the Lodge. Your hike across the island will reveal the diverse flora of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest, sheltering Maquisapa monkeys, Capuchins, Small Lion Monkeys, Frailes, Cotos, Coatis, Sloths, and a wide variety of tropical birds.

End the day with a spectacular sunset over the Amazon jungle in Peru and enjoy dinner at the Lodge. We will have a delectable dinner to round out an unforgettable day.

Day 3: Cocha Perdida Tour

Wake up to the melodious chirping of birds in this Peru Amazon paradise. A wholesome breakfast will fuel you for an exciting day of discovery in the Amazon jungle.

After breakfast, venture deep into the pristine rainforest with a local guide. The trek through the dense Amazon forest in Peru leads to the legendary Lost Cocha, a sanctuary and vital food source for an extraordinary range of wildlife. Here you will find playful Otters, Caimans, Turtles, Sachavacas (Tapirs), and colorful tropical birds—including the regal Jaguar and diverse fish species. This exclusive area is part of Ecoamazonia's Ecological Reserve, preserving its natural state with vast swamps and diverse aguajales.

Climb the Observation Deck for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Peru rainforest stretching to the horizon. Then enjoy a peaceful canoe ride around the lake before returning to the Lodge for lunch.
