Entrance Schedule
According to the Ministry of Culture, the intention is to balance the increase in flow of all our visitors to the wonder of the world, Machu Picchu, with the conservation and preservation needs of the sanctuary. Entrance times will be more controlled.
Example: If your entry is from 9 to 10:00 AM, you have a maximum of 45 additional minutes to enter, after that time you will not be able to enter, except for reasons of force majeure or fortuitous event duly demonstrated. Therefore, it is recommended to arrive early. All these rules come into effect as of June 1, 2024.
In addition, modifications have been made to the site usage regulations, specifying that visitors will have a maximum of 3 hours to tour the citadel through the new itineraries, seeking to reduce the impact on the monument.
Other important changes include adjustments to the regulations for sustainable use and tourist visits for the conservation of Machu Picchu, in order to increase flexibility in entrance times according to the season and establishing clear processes for the acquisition of tickets through the Ministry of Culture’s online platform.
